Eliáš Sidon — I focus on creating clear, user-friendly interfaces for web and mobile apps, with attention to clean UX. The technology stack depends on the project needs.

Work (selection)

• 01/2025 – present — development of responsive templates, IT Administration of the city of Plzeň (Nette/Latte templates).
• 09/2025 – 11/2025 — LaTeX typesetter and technical editor, Maťa Publishing (typographic preparation of a bilingual edition).
• 05/2025 — typographer / type designer, Jewish Museum in Prague (custom Hebrew font).
• 06/2021 – 05/2023 — programmer / consultant, Ahasware s.r.o. (development of internal frameworks, work with PostgreSQL/MSSQL/Oracle).

Projects & authored work

I work on personal experiments and projects: custom typefaces, watercolor ketubot (marriage contracts), web and mobile apps, small JS tools and educational series. I also develop an experimental language called fregex and publish translations of rabbinic texts and technical articles.

I enjoy helping small businesses simplify repetitive Excel work. I use simple scripts, small web tools or API integrations so routine tasks don't take hours. After introducing small scripts and tools, clients usually save significant time on repetitive tasks.

For example, I developed the mobile widget Hebrew Time, which shows the Hebrew calendar, an analog Hebrew clock and precise halachic times. See my portfolio for details.

Education & experience

I value hands-on experience over formal courses, although I have completed a number of them. I studied Talmudic and theological subjects (Ohr Somayach, Jerusalem). For many years I maintained and fixed SQL databases for larger organizations and wrote and optimized SQL queries daily across PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL and Oracle. I specialize in query performance, index optimization, data model design, migrations and report automation. I prefer working with smaller teams and independent projects; I do not actively seek corporate contracts.
